Put simply, hashing is a social club of drinking and running. It started in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by bored British soldiers in the 1930s and has spread all over the world. Different organizations are known as kennels and most major cities have at least one. Different kennels have different cultures, so you should be able to find a group anywhere you live!
Expect fun with accepting people! Our hashes typically start at either a bar, a park or at somebody’s home. Runs are typically 3 to 5 miles, with 1 to 3 “beer checks” in between. Beer checks are typically at a home, in the field or at a bar. The hare will specify if you need to bring ID. Overall, expect a laid back good time!
During warmer months and longer days our hashes are typically once per week Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Hashes typically meet around 6:oo p.m. Once the days start getting shorter we shift to weekends and starting times vary more.
